KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) has announced to observe 9th anniversary of Martyrs of Karasaz Carnage on October 16thinstead of 18th. The party leaders said that the date was changed in national and public interest because 18th Oct will be Tuesday which is a working day. Addressing a press conference, Sindh Chief Minister’s adviser for Labour Senator Saeed Ghani said that PPP would produce a mammoth “Salaam Shuhda” rally to pay homage to the martyrs of 18th October 2007. Ghani said that only Karachi’s workers will participate in the rally because whenever PPP shows its public strength in Karachi it is being said that the party had brought people from other parts of the country. ‘The rally will be commenced from Bilawal House where District West and Korangi activists will join, and then it will arrive at Kutiana Hospital via M T Khan Road where District South rally would join,” said Saeed. He added that after demonstrating in the areas of Liari, the rally will arrive at M.A Jinnah Road where District Central will merge, while Distric East will join at Numaish Chowrangi. He said that PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zarddari will address the rally while former Prime Minister Sayed Yousuf Raza Gilani and other leaders will also address the event.
