KARACHI – Religious scholar Mufti Muneebur Rehman has expressed his reservation to government ‘for specifically targeting religious seminaries (Madaris) in the ongoing operation.
Addressing a press conference, Mufti Muneeb said that the government did not do what it is supposed to do. “Pakistan is already facing chaos and it is not in a position to further exacerbate the problem.” he warned. “Has terrorism completely been rooted out from Pakistan,” he aspired.
The scholar said that the hate speeches should be banned. He said singling out seminaries for action is a biased approach. “It would be better if war on terrorism should be taken to its logical end.” He also took exception to the bill presented in the Sindh Assembly seeking to regulate Friday sermons.
